Biography

Mr. Wareham is a highly regarded litigation attorney whose practice emphasizes family law litigation and criminal justice law. In particular, Mr. Wareham handles high conflict divorce, support enforcement and custodial matters. Supported by superb support staff, Mr. Wareham has saved his clients millions of dollars in property equalization payouts by skillfully and effectively arguing that equitable does not necessarily mean equal when it comes to marital property division. Recognized by mental health practitioners for his unique insight in to domestic violence issues, he is as comfortable representing the abused as the abuser.

A skilled litigator and negotiator, Mr. Wareham believes that every case is a candidate for settlement. “Work toward settlement, prepare for trial” is his mantra.

Mr. Wareham had a successful career in high technology sales and sales management with Fortune 50 companies prior to being called to the bar in the early 1990s. During most of this twenty years, Mr. Wareham also served as either a full-time or reserve peace officer in the State of California–holding a certificate from California’s Peace Officer Standards and Training agency. . As a custodial parent himself, Mr. Wareham understands the special demands of being a single parent and fights to spare children the trauma associated with divorce. He tells all his domestic relations clients, “I won’t let you hurt your kids!”

In addition to his client focused activities, Mr. Wareham believes strongly in a lawyer’s obligation to give back to the community. He engages in legislative advocacy with Colorado’s General Assembly and has co-authored at least three bill or amendments to bills that eventually were signed into law by Colorado’s Governor. A dynamic and engaging orator, Mr. Wareham has been called upon to testify before legislative committees and speak at political rallies. He is the founder and Executive Director of Liberty Watch Colorado Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(4) organization devoted to educating the public on personal liberties and holding those in power accountable for their deviance from established liberty principles.
