Robert De Niro and wife purportedly headed for divorce re-run

Marriage is often a difficult and emotionally taxing venture for most couples. For those under the added pressure of public scrutiny, keeping a marriage on solid footing may be even more challenging as many celebrity couples file for divorce. Colorado movie fans may have recently heard that actor Robert De Niro and Grace Hightower are purportedly calling it quits for the second time.

The couple have been together off and on for more than 20 years. Shortly after the birth of their son, the couple filed for a divorce. They were locked in a custody dispute over the child for some time. However, several years later, they decided to try again and canceled their divorce proceedings. The 75-year-old actor has amassed a wealth of films to his credit and was worth an estimated $200 million based on those earnings as of 2015.

Along with his film earnings, he is also a co-founder of the globally known company, Tribecca Enterprises. This company has produced several well-received films and is involved in other media and film venues. In addition to his work in films and the Tribecca company, the actor is also an experienced businessman who has been instrumental in growing a hospitality company that includes hotels, restaurants, and various other properties and development projects. These enterprises are expected to bring in revenues of approximately $1 billion over the next 60 months, as the business is expected to add condominiums to its holdings.

It is unclear whether the couple signed a prenuptial agreement before their marriage. They are also the parents of a younger daughter who was born via surrogacy several years after their reconciliation. Colorado residents who are facing a high-net-worth divorce of their own will likely be best served by consulting with an attorney who is well-versed in all of the financial implications that accompany these types of dissolutions in order to arrive at the most satisfactory settlement agreement.
